Plyometrics Training:

Plyometrics training is often used to improve power in the legs. Generally plyometrics use a lot of bounding, jumping,skipping and speed work exercises.

  1. Depth Jump (5-8) x3
  2. Hurdle Jumps (5-8) x3
  3. Tuck Jumps (5-8) x3
  4. Squats (5-8) x3
  5. One Legged Hops (5-8) x3
  6. One Legged Bounding (5-8) x3

I have chosen Plyometrics as it is often capable to create very similar movements that you would use in a competitive game by simply recreating jumps..

Weights Training 

Weights training to improve power often incorporates explosive exercises, movements should be performed moderately fast working at 30-80% of your 1 repetition maximum. Some examples of exercises are as follows:

  1. Quadriceps Curls (1-5) x4
  2. Calf Curls (1-5) x4
  3. Quadriceps Press (1-5) x4

I have chosen weights training as when it works in conjunction with Plyometrics it creates a method of training similar to that of Complex Training which is used for power athletes with high external resistance.
